What kind of fish can I expect to catch on my tour in the Uinta Mountains?

  • Rich Goates holding a brook trout that he caught in the Uinta Mountains

    Brook Trout

One of our favorites, and a blast to catch on top water. Plus, they live in the most beautiful places.

  • Alex Goates holding a Tiger Trout caught in the Uinta Mountains while fly fishing

    Tiger Trout

A rare catch in many places of the world - Tiger Trout are a cross between the Brook and Brown. The Uinta Mountains are an incredible Tiger Trout fishery!

  • Bradley Larson holding a brown trout that he caught fly fishing

    Brown Trout

Browns are found in the freestone rivers and streams - they always put up a good fight.

  • A cutthroat trout caught fly-fishing in the High Uintas

    Cutthroat Trout

The only native trout to Utah, Cutthroat are a prized possession and can be found in certain lakes in the Uinta Mountains.

  • Rainbow Trout

The most commonly stocked fish in the Uinta Mountains - there are an abundance of Rainbows that are eager to go after flies.

  • Arctic Grayling caught fly-fishing in the Uinta Mountains

    Arctic Grayling

The Arctic Grayling is the only non-trout found in the Uinta Mountains, and they’re incredibly unique to catch because of the blueish or orangeish fin they have.

Man with a beard wearing sunglasses, a cap, and a gray t-shirt kneels near a pond and holds a fishing net with a small fish inside.

“I went on a fly fishing tour with Uinta Life last Thursday, and it was an unforgettable experience!… (It) was my first time ever trying fly fishing… Steve was the perfect guide. He’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, and an excellent instructor… The scenery was stunning, and the fishing was incredible. The entire experience felt like a perfect mix of outdoor adventure and expert coaching. I will DEFINITELY be back!”
